Special Olympics Unified Schools

The EGF Senior High School is working to become a “Unified School.”

Unified Schools begin with Special Olympics Unified Sports® to build inclusive school communities for young people of all abilities. This programming creates an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and included both in school and in their local community.
Our local Unified Waves will be hosting a pep rally during our flex on November 30th (11:24-11:54). We will be having a presentation with a few speakers, our local student Bryce Campos, Shannon from the Special Olympics, and two of her student representatives from Thief River Falls and Bemidji. The following day there will be some games held in the new gym. We will have ladder golf, corn hole, a craft corner, and more. On November 21st and 22nd our Unified Waves students participated in an adaptive bowling event. If other students want to learn more about the event, they can contact Mrs. Ruemmele, or visit her in room 102. We are always looking for more student representation in our community and would love your help to teach others about being unified. If you want to learn more about what it means to be unified we would highly encourage you to attend these events and show our Unified Waves some support.
