Urgent Security Warning: Student Phishing & Malware Alert

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to inform you of a security threat targeting our students via email. Recently, a malicious campaign has been circulating within the student body, disguised as a lucrative part-time job offer.

Students are receiving emails offering a part-time position with a salary of $500.30 per week. To "apply," students are directed to a Google Form that requests highly sensitive personal and financial information, including:

· Full Name and Gender

· Bank Name

· Email Address and Email Password

· etc.

This is a phishing and malware attack designed to steal identities and gain unauthorized access to personal accounts.

1. Identity Theft: Providing a bank name and personal details allows scammers to target financial accounts.

2. Account Takeover: No legitimate employer will ever ask for an email password. By providing this, students give attackers full control over their digital lives, including access to other linked accounts (social media, school portals, and shopping sites).

3. Malware Risk: Some versions of these emails contain links or attachments that may install malicious software (malware) on the student’s device to track keystrokes or steal data silently.

If you believe your child submitted the form, please take the following steps immediately:

· Have them go to their school office. We will change their password Immediately.

· Report it: Please encourage your child to report the email as "Phishing" or "Spam" within their email client and notify the school’s IT department.

The school’s IT team is working to block these senders and remove the malicious emails from our internal servers. We urge you to use this as a "teachable moment" to discuss online safety and the golden rule of the internet: If an offer seems too good to be true, it almost certainly is. We have verbally informed middle school and high school students and worked with those that we are aware interacted with this request to change their email. If your child needs help changing password, send them to the school office.
