Good Afternoon,
Wanting families aware that when tornado sirens activated today schools started planned protocol to transition to tornado safe areas. We received word fairly quickly that the siren was for hail and high winds and at that point schools were notified they didn’t have to continue. Wanted you to be aware that your child(ren) may have gone to safe areas or may not have even got out of their room depending on what building they were in. At this point it appears that the latest warning will expire at 2:45 and buses will proceed as scheduled.

EGF Schools and United Way are teaming up again this school year to fight childhood hunger in our community by providing bags of food in students’ backpacks for weekend meals.
To sign up for the Backpack Program, please complete the form attached and return it to your student's teacher or school office. Deliveries will start mid-September.
To support the program and student's in our community, donations can be made to United Way.
Questions about the program can be directed to Kendra Hatcher at khatcher@egf.k12.mn.us.

Even though East Grand Forks Public Schools provides free meals to all students, completing the Application for Educational Benefits is still very important! The information collected directly impacts federal funding for our schools, which helps provide resources that support our classrooms, students, and programs. The application takes only about 5 minutes to complete and all information is completely confidential. Families can complete the application through their SchoolPay account, or paper copies are available at your child’s school. Your application makes a difference and directly supports our students and classrooms! 💚
