At the February 9th School Board meeting, the Board officially proclaimed February 18th as School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, recognizing the important role school bus drivers play in the safety and success of our students.
Each day, our school bus drivers are among the first to greet students in the morning and the last to see them in the afternoon. They do far more than transport students to and from school, they build relationships, set the tone for the day, and ensure students arrive safely, ready to learn.
School bus drivers navigate changing weather conditions, varying road situations, and busy schedules, all while maintaining a calm and supportive presence for the students in their care. Their commitment, patience, and professionalism make a meaningful difference in the lives of our families and our school community.
The School Board’s proclamation serves as a reminder of the critical role transportation staff play in our district. On February 18th, we encourage students, families, and staff to take a moment to thank a bus driver for their dedication and service.
We are grateful for our transportation team and the care they provide to our students each and every day.
