Her teacher, Mrs. Browne nominated her and here is what she said about Kennedy: "Kennedy is always trying to help others around her. During lunch, a student was struggling with their food preferences. She helped reassure him it was okay and offered her fries. So kind!"

Check it out! The Annual Fire Department Open House will be held on Monday, October 6th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the East Grand Forks Fire Station. This event will include:
-Live demonstrations
-Fire safety activities
-Free snacks and giveaways
-Maybe even a visit from Sparky the fire dog

Harper Abbey is our Good News Call of the Day.
She was nominated by Mrs. Osowski, paraprofessional and this is what she said about Harper: "Harper is always the first to step up and help her fellow classmates. Whether it’s to help with a project, reading books or the simple gesture of holding hands to help someone get around the school, she always does it with a smile on her face and kindness in her heart."

So we have already accumulated many lost items and have laid them out for students to collect what belongs to them. Remind them to always collect their items at the end of the day so they do not end up in Lost and Found. If not collected by the week of Parent/Teacher Conferences, they will be donated.

Parents watch for this flyer coming home today with your student. It is a great opportunity/sale to get some early Christmas shopping done!
Be sure to fill out the bottom of the form for your student to have a chance at a drawing.

Yesterday South Point had a visiting royalty. Congratulations to King Jezrael and Queen Morgan and all the homecoming court! We appreciate and thank the Homecoming Court, HS Band, HS Football Cheerleaders and football players for coming to South Point to celebrate Homecoming Week with us.

Next week we will be celebrating Homecoming Week. See attached flyer for information.
Thursday is also Picture Day. Packets were sent home with the students today, so check your students backpacks.
These can be returned before or on the day of pictures.

Congratulations to Jaxon and Tillie winners of a SPOT emotion T-shirt from a drawing held at the EGF Showcase event which was held on Wednesday, September 3rd.

We had our first Spot Assembly yesterday. The theme was, what does it mean to be an "Emotion Coach?"
Respectful, Responsible and Safe.

Ms. Melquist, paraprofessional, nominated her. Here is what she had to say about Aaliyah: "Aaliyah is a great classmate. In class, she is always helping others around her and assisted her desk mate with his chromebook when he wasn’t sure where to go."

She was nominated by Mrs. Schomer on the first day of school. Here's what Mrs. Schomer had to say about Hailey:

We cannot wait for our South Point students to see our updated Library. It is FABULOUS! A huge shout out and THANK YOU to our South Point Custodial staff, Dara Omang and Aaron Kroetsch for all your hard work to make this all come together. You are appreciated.
