Today was Field Day at South Point! Students had a variety of fun activities to participate in and enjoyed beautiful weather throughout the day.

A huge thank you to Mr. Nagle, Mr. Moffitt, and Ms. Rodriguez for all of their planning and organization. Thank you as well to our students, parents, and PTO for helping make the day so special and for providing cool treats for everyone to enjoy.

What a fun and memorable way to celebrate the end of the school year!

This past Friday, South Point students showed off their talents at our annual Variety Show!

Thank you to all of the students who participated and shared their amazing talents with us. A special thank you to Mr. Moffitt for organizing this wonderful event and helping make it a success. Great job to everyone involved!

Sudais Farah is our Good News Call of the Day. Our secretary, Mrs. Phelps, nominated him and this is what she said: "Sudais had been lying down in the nurse's office not feeling well. Another student came in sick and Sudais came out and offered the other student his cot so they could lie down. He was so kind and caring to this other student who was not feeling well. Great job!"
Congratulations Sudais - we are so proud of you!

Maverik Omdahl is our Good News Call of the Day. He was nominated by our music teacher, Mr. Moffitt and here is what he said about Maverik: "Maverik has been a rockstar helping a new student. Whenever we are doing something new, Maverik has been right there helping him out. It’s been so refreshing to see such kindness and responsibility from a student and he's only a third grader."

Today we were entertained by the CMS Jazz Band and Pop Singers. Thank you to Ms. Loer and Ms. Larson for sharing their talents with us. Our students and staff truly enjoyed the performance and the opportunity to experience such wonderful music. Great job to all of the performers!

A HUGE shout out and THANK YOU to Kids In Need Foundation and Rydell's for the generous backpack donation! South Point was awarded 200 backpacks filled with school supplies. These will be donated to students in need as we begin the 2026-2027 school year. Your generosity and community support for our students and families is truly appreciated!

Thank you to the EGF Education Foundation as we continue to use the funds granted to us to beautify our school. We recently purchased banners that reflect our Respectful, Responsible, and Safe motto, which are now displayed in our main entry and gym. We also added a new banner in the gym featuring our school song.

These additions help create a welcoming environment while reinforcing the values and pride that make South Point such a special place. Onward GreenWave!

Thank you to the EGF Educational Foundation for the delicious donuts yesterday as we celebrated Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! Your thoughtful generosity and support are truly appreciated. They were a wonderful treat and enjoyed by all!

Yesterday, the South Point 5th Grade Band Spring Concert was presented, and what a fantastic performance it was! Thank you to Ms. Loer, our 5th Grade Band students, and everyone who assisted with and supported this program. The students have come such a long way since they first began learning their instruments, and their hard work and dedication truly showed. Great job, everyone!

Yesterday at our SPOT Assembly, we focused on the feeling of sadness. Thank you to Ms. Hewitt’s class for leading with a meaningful skit about being left out and sharing helpful strategies for working through those emotions.

Congratulations to South Point's Claire Nowacki! Claire competed in the Together We Dance 2026 Nationals in Rochester and received 1st place for her Jazz group.

Congratulations to our own South Point student, Adleigh Albano!

Adleigh competed at the national competition in Rochester this past weekend with her dance group Just for Kix and delivered an outstanding performance. She earned 1st place in the Mini Classic Solo and also took 1st place with her Hip Hop group!

We are so proud of you, Adleigh—what an incredible accomplishment! 🎉

Last night, the 5th Grade Honor Choir showcased their incredible talents and had the special opportunity to blend their voices with the Valley Senior Living Choir.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Moffitt, the 5th grade staff, and the residents and staff from Valley Senior Living for making the evening so meaningful. It was truly a special night!

We are counting down the alphabet until the end of the school year, and for the letter C, Ms. Taylor’s class got creative with chalk art! Students had a great time showing their imagination and adding colorful masterpieces to our sidewalks. What a fun way to celebrate the countdown and brighten everyone’s day!

Today we had the pleasure of having Ben Kruta, a University of North Dakota student majoring in music education, for his final day of observations. Ben brought in a variety of instruments to share with our students, including trumpet, baritone, French horn, cello, clarinet, oboe, and piccolo.

We adjusted our specials schedule so every student had the opportunity to attend his presentation and experience these unique instruments up close. Ben did a wonderful job engaging students and sharing his musical talents. Thank you, Ben, for providing such a memorable experience for our students!
