Illness Guidelines

Wondering whether to keep your student home for the day?  Here are the guidelines to follow:

-Has a fever of 100.0 degrees or higher

-Has been vomiting or has diarrhea

-Tired, poor appetite, cough, headache, body aches, earache or sore throat.

Keep your child home if he/she is coughing or sneezing often because this spreads the sickness to others.

The 24-hour rule:

1.  Fever-Keep your child home until their fever has been gone without medicine for 24 hours.

2.  Vomiting or diarrhea-Keep your child home for 24 hours after the last time he or she vomited or had diarrhea.

3.  Antibiotics-Keep your child home until 24 hours after the first dose of antibiotics for anything like an ear infection or strep throat.

If you child receives a note/guidelines from a clinic for a positive covid diagnosis, parents can choose to follow their guidelines and the absences will be excused, however, we do not require students to isolate.
