Panorama Social-Emotional Survey Information and How to OPT Out If You Do Not Want Your Child To Participate:

East Grand Forks Public Schools: Partnering with You in Student Success

At East Grand Forks Schools, we value the strong partnership we share with you in supporting your child’s growth. To better understand and meet the needs of our students, the district has a tool called the Panorama Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) platform

This platform allows teachers to complete a short, research-based survey about their student that helps them learn more about their student’s social and emotional experiences. Schools across the country use Panorama to measure and support important SEL skills such as:

- Growth Mindset

- Grit

- Self-Management

- Social Awareness

The survey also asks questions about how they feel at school—things like safety, belonging, teacher-student relationships, and overall school climate.

Why this matters

Social and Emotional Learning is all about helping students (and adults!) build the skills to manage emotions, set and achieve goals, show empathy, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. These are the same skills that help students succeed not just in school, but in their careers and throughout life.

How the survey helps

Surveys will be given in the fall and spring

Results give teachers and schools a “baseline” to see strengths and areas where extra support might be needed.

Information will be reviewed at both the classroom and district level to guide next steps.

Families will also have access to their student’s data, including areas like grit, growth mindset, school climate, and teacher-student relationships.

With Panorama, our educators gain evidence-based resources they can use right away in their classrooms, ensuring students have both the academic and social-emotional support they need to thrive. Together, we can continue to grow in partnership to support every student’s academic, social, and emotional journey.
