It's January, a New Year with many new things to learn and celebrate at New Heights!
The first semester of instruction ends January 17!! Wow! 18 weeks will have gone. There will be a teacher's curriculum day on January 20, so students will not attend school that day.
All New Heights' students are completing the second round of FASTBridge testing this month. FASTBridge testing provides teacher, student and parent current achievement information in the areas of reading and math.
Students have had more access to library book check out this year. Having books available encourages reading and adds to background knowledge. Please continue to check with your child about returning their library books promptly.
Continue to pull as far forward as possible in the drop-off loop each morning. The process succeeds when everyone follows the procedure. Thanks for helping to keep all kids safe.
There are 28 instructional days until the February break. Your child should be showing great growth both at school and at home. Continue to read with them daily.
If you have any gently-used clothing (especially sweatpants), please drop off at New Heights.
The 2nd grade music program will be held on January 30th. Watch for the information in your child's backpack!
Please LABEL all your child's items: backpack, snow pants, jacket, lunch box, etc. There are so many black items it's difficult to keep things straight!
