Early Childhood Screening

March 7, 8, and 9

The East Grand Forks School District, in accordance with State law, is sponsoring Early Childhood Screening for all children  3 to 5 years of age by March 6, 2023.  Screening will be held March 7 & 8, 8:00-7:30 PM and March 9, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM.  If your child is enrolled at Head Start you do not need to participate, your child has already been screened at Head Start. 

  • A child only needs to complete screening once before entering kindergarten.

  • All MN residents and open enrolled students of School District #595 are welcome to attend at no cost to the family. 

  • This screening is required for entrance into Kindergarten and School Readiness Preschool.

  • Screening should be completed when a child is 3 to 4 years old

  • The purpose of screening is to guarantee that all young children in Minnesota are well equipped and ready for learning. 

  • Only Minnesota residents are eligible to be screened.

 Appointments are scheduled every 20 minutes but you should plan to be at your appointment for 60-90 minutes.

Once you have scheduled a screening appointment an information packet will be emailed to you for you to complete and bring with you to your screening appointment.

Screening will be held at Senior High Center, 1505 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks.
