EGF ISD 595 Updates

Greetings EGF ISD 595 Families and Staff Members,

Summer vacation 2021 is coming to a close and I am looking forward to seeing all of the students next week.  Staff members have done a great job of preparing for the 2021-22 school year and I would like to thank all of them for their efforts!  Three of the school district buildings were under construction most of summer and the contractors are in the process of completing their work.

School District News

Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan Updates - The East Grand Forks ISD 595 Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan is posted on the school district website.  District officials are currently in the process of preparing two documents that will be added to the plan shortly.  The documents include a leveling system for mitigation strategies which include face covering rules, procedures for close contacts, and quarantine lengths.

Face coverings are currently recommended for student and staff members at EGF ISD 595, but I highly encourage everyone to wear a face covering when inside the school buildings.  Students and staff members who are not symptomatic and meet one of the following criteria will not be required to quarantine when determined to be a close contact.  All of us want to keep the students and staff members healthy, as well as in school for in-person instruction.  Please help us meet these two goals!
Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
Properly wearing a face covering during the time of the potential exposure
Within the 90 day window after testing positive for COVID-19

Personal note- I am fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and plan to receive a booster shot if needed.  I also plan to wear a face covering when in the presence of others while inside our buildings.

School Meals Information - The federal government will continue to fund free students meals for the 2021-22 school year, but it is still very important for families to complete the free and reduced meals application.  The percent of students qualifying for free and reduced meals has a direct impact on certain revenue sources the district depends on to manage a balanced budget.  Please go to the Free & Reduced Meals Application Link or complete a hard copy of application ASAP if you have not done so already.  Your time and effort to complete the application will be greatly appreciated!

Student Drop-Off/Pick-up Areas and Parking Lot Information - Updates have been made to the parking lots and student drop-off/pick-up zones at New Heights, South Point and Central Middle School.  Please go to the following links to find more detailed information and maps for each building.  Please do not use the parking lots at New Heights, South Point, and CMS to drop-off or pick-up your child(ren). There are designated student drop-off/pick-up lanes at all three sites that will need to be used in order to keep the students and staff members safe.  THANK YOU in advance for your cooperation!
