NW MN Arts Council Grant Press Release
Our Choir department received a $2,000 grant to sponsor the commissioning of an original piece of choral music written specifically for our EGF Concert Choir by a college friend of Mr. D. Hanson's who is a freelance composer and piano teacher.
The award covers the creation of the piece but also a week-long residency for him to come up and work directly with our students on the rehearsal process (which we'll probably break into two chunks and spread over the rehearsal period).
We are aiming for the premiere performance to be at the choir's MMEA concert in February with a second performance in EGF at our May concert.
